Do you ever wonder why some people are happy and you don’t feel that way? Happy people have learned something that unhappy people don’t know or don’t want to know. Instead of going through life trying to get something, they are givers. Happiness is a byproduct of contributing to life and the people around you, not just going through life in the receiving role.
A Course in Miracles teaches us “To have all give all to all.” The only real lack is in our consciousness, so that’s what we manifest.
When you share your energy, time, and money without expectations, you affirm abundance rather than lack. Less attracts less, and more attracts more.
People who focus on contributing are getting the good feeling of sharing with others. So even when they are going through tough times, they are less inclined to dwell on those difficulties. When they are in pain, other people will want to be there for them.
Though it seems counterintuitive when you feel financial lack, that is the best time to be generous. If you donate money when your funds are low, you’ll be surprised when unexpected income will find its way to you.
When you think you’re short of time and make time for someone who needs you, your schedule will adjust accordingly. And when a loved one truly needs you, and you’re bone-tired, it’s amazing how recharged you will feel when you get up and help.
There’s just one caveat. You can’t do this to get something; you do it because you want to. You’ll have to be honest with yourself about your motives. If your heart is in the right place and you’re doing it for no other reason than the good feeling of giving, the results will surprise you.
It’s impossible to feel awful when you’re experiencing the joy of giving.
If you don’t believe me, try it for a month and see what happens.
